Anxiety & Panick Attacks

“I just want to be free from this! I want to live life again! Trapped in your own self?”

This is a little of my story. For seven years, I suffered from agoraphobic anxieties and panic attacks that controlled my life. I couldn’t take my children to school for fear that someone might speak to me. At times, it got so bad that even sitting down at the family dinner table felt impossible. When I finally broke free—and realized I was not alone—I placed a notice in the local community shop:

“Have you ever suffered from anxiety?”

I was shocked at how many people came to our first meeting. Anxiety can affect each person differently, but its impact is similar: it isolates, overwhelms, and traps you in your own body. Panic attacks and anxiety are more common than many realize—affecting 1 in 5 men, 1 in 3 women, and 1 in 25 teenagers. So, as alone as you may feel, you are not alone.
Anxiety doesn’t usually stem from a single event. Life is full of experiences and challenges, and sometimes they accumulate, leaving you feeling trapped and unable to live fully.
I became fascinated with the strength of the human mind. After years of running my own manufacturing company, I changed direction. Even though I had personal experience, I decided to gain formal qualifications so I could help people not only from an educational perspective but also from emotional and personal experience.
Understanding Depression and How Change Is Possible

Motivation

Is it all just too hard?

Trouble wanting getting out bed?

Don’t know where to start

Bored

Does the hole just get deeper?

Does any or all of these tick the box on how you feel?

Not having the energy to get up and achieve, the simple day to day seems so very hard and depressing? Being un motivated can have a huge effect on your life, from relationships, to work, and self-esteem, resulting in a life with no fulfilment! Before you know it the days just go by and life becomes a domino effect.

Driving force behind the doing and the happening is MOTIVATION. The initial want to do and then to follow through to the end, even when the initially want has faded. The determination to keep going to complete the task to gain the reward ,is self- motivation These rewards come in two types: 1/ Intrinsic Motivation-The feeling / emotional satisfaction of the task being complete. 2/ Extrinsic Motivation- The materialistic reward, money, a new car, a gift, a holiday. All you need is that person behind you to kick start you, to find the direct and to set goals at a pace that suites. To teach you tools and learn why your mind switches and how to take control of your life. Pay attention to all facets, from your eating habits, social interaction, physical and mental wellbeing. Self-Motivation is not easy to establish once lost, and even for people that have self-motivation, sometimes a helping hand to get back on track is needed. Setting goals in one thing , but believing that you can achieve is another. People have different levels of their belief in their self to effectively complete a goal or dream. Yes Dreams? Once a person has any doubt, it opened the door for the motivation to slip though and the belief in “SELF” to perform. As with any change you desire in your life the WANT, Attitude towards that “Want” and the truthful self-belief in your effectiveness to carry out to the end.

Weight Management

How to control your weight

Tried all the diets in the world and still a member of a gym you never go to?? Here's how to shift the weight that was so easy to put on and is so hard to get rid of and why that is so. HABIT is a good place to start. Our bad habits can be actually what makes it so hard to move into a different lifestyle, that will give you your desired weight loss or gain. Usually there is a deep seeded issue that sits in the back of your Mind directing your life.

I was the creator and organizer of the Hawkesbury Women's Biggest Loser campaign and the Nepean Women's Biggest Loser campaign. On these programs groups of women were taken on a 3 month journey, with a blend of teaching nutritional eating, mind therapy and excercise. On this program we did have great success with losses of over 20kg. The creation of another program coordinated myself and coworked with a colleague called Hop Skip Jump, was based on Mind Therapy this was a short 6 week program to get people motivated.

When Examining the two programs the main point of contingency that became very apparent was that people were concerned about Breaking Habits and the duration of Breaking a Habit. What I found they all had in common was the need for a Healthy Mind first. The Mind when not healthy, is weighed down with living memories that do not serve you Mentally or Physically My job is to concentrate on helping my clients to clear the past for the new to develop.

Stress

Hurry! Hurry! Hurry! Quick! Quick! Quick! Now! Now! Now!
Work, kids, finances, family… pressure, pressure, pressure. When will it ever stop?
Every day feels like a race:
Getting to work on time
Preparing the kids for school
Meeting deadlines
Shopping, home repairs, bills…
It’s like life demands that everything happen yesterday.

Even the small things fuel the rush:
Flicking through TV channels, impatient for the next program
Tapping your fingers while waiting for a page to load
Checking Google maps or information, frustrated at a two-second delay
Waiting for a reply to a text, imagining all the possibilities

We live in a world of instant expectation and gratification—from ourselves and from others. And in chasing speed, we pile on invisible pressure. That pressure? It’s stress. Stress may be unseen, but it affects everything: your health, your mood, your relationships, even your weight. Over time, unmanaged stress on a mental health level, can contribute to depression, anxiety, addiction, panic attacks, and burnout. On a physical level ,when stress hormones (like cortisol and adrenaline) stay elevated for too long, they strain multiple systems in the body. Some major conditions linked to long-term stress: Heart & Blood Vessel Diseases High blood pressure (hypertension) Heart disease Heart attack Stroke Irregular heart rhythms Stress increases inflammation and keeps the heart working harder than it should. The Key: Stress Management The solution isn’t doing more—it’s learning to take control. Saying no when needed, slowing down, and applying simple, daily strategies can prevent stress from overwhelming your life. Together, we can explore easy, practical methods to: Reduce tension and regain calm Handle pressure without it controlling you Protect your mental and physical health Reclaim balance in work, family, and personal life Stress doesn’t have to run your life. With mindful management, you can take back control and live with clarity, calm, and confidence. Combinations of different techniques , with hypnotherapy we can weave messages into your subconscious, allow the rewiring of your responses.

Depression

Depression often doesn’t start with one single event—it can creep in gradually, shaped by a series of experiences over time. It can feel like a deep hole that pulls you in, making it hard to see a way out. But change is possible.

1. Emotions, Moods, and Temperament

Emotions are short-lived reactions to events, like sadness, anger, or joy. They come and go quickly.
Moods last longer and are often made up of repeated emotions. For example, experiencing sadness repeatedly can create a low mood that lasts days or weeks.
Temperament / Personality Changes occur when moods persist over months or years. Chronic negative moods can reshape the brain through a process called neuroplasticity, reinforcing patterns of thinking and feeling. In other words: what fires together, wires together.
This progression explains why a series of difficult experiences can slowly influence personality and overall outlook on life.

2. The Role of the Subconscious Mind Our subconscious mind stores habits, emotional responses, and learned behaviours. It operates automatically, often without our conscious awareness. This is why it can feel like depression or anxiety is “out of our control”—we’re reacting on autopilot to patterns our brain has already learned. The Subconscious is there to keep you safe , and in its only peculiar way, it gets it wrong. So sometimes what started to keep you safe has ended up limiting your life. With hypnotherapy we are able to talk directly to the subconscious . 3. Breaking the Cycle The good news: these patterns can be changed. By talking to both the conscious and subconscious mind, you can rewire your emotional responses and habits. Techniques which I use include: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): Helps identify negative thought loops and replace them with healthier positive thinking, our self-talk can be very limiting, and mostly happens on a subconscious level. Breathing : Diaphragmatic breathing (also called deep belly breathing) is a technique where you breathe deeply into your abdomen instead of shallowly into your chest. It has powerful physical and mental benefits: Activates the parasympathetic nervous system (“rest and digest” mode) Lowers cortisol (stress hormone) Helps calm racing thoughts Can reduce panic symptoms Breathing can be a easy access to calm, especially when coupled with hypnotherapy, altering your response to situations. Behavioural : Engaging in positive, meaningful mindset , activities to lift mood , giving self-value and satisfaction . Motivation: A key to movement of your subconscious, its hard to think ahead when you have spent time in the hole of depression. We don’t see our achievement, tending to dismiss. I like to help you build a plan where you are and where you would want to be , this can be done with many different techniques. Its even hard to know when you want to be. NLP and Hypnosis: Can access subconscious patterns to reframe emotional reactions and promote new, positive habits. Lifestyle changes: Lets face it , the life style now is not working for you , a change creates a changed response . Good sleep, balanced nutrition, and social connections influence brain chemistry and overall well-being. 4. A Message of Hope Even though depression can feel overwhelming, the mind is capable of change. Persistent patterns of thought and emotion can be reshaped, moods lifted, and temperament gradually improved. With awareness, intention, and the right support, it’s possible to step out of the cycle and create a healthier, happier mental state.

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy is all about helping each person step outside themselves and really understand their partner. Most of the time, couples want the same things—but they get stuck because they can’t quite grasp each other’s point of view. That’s why it’s important to first look at each person individually—their upbringing, experiences, and how they understand the world—before diving into how they interact. Communication is key, and simple tools like the Five Love Languages quiz can be a great starting point. It helps couples see each other’s needs more clearly and start making small, meaningful changes that really strengthen the relationship.

Child Therapy

Child therapy is a specialized form of therapy as it is designed to help children understand and cope with their emotions, behaviours, and experiences in a safe and supportive environment. Because children often do not express themselves the same way adults do, therapy typically uses creative and developmentally appropriate methods rather than relying only on conversation.
Child therapy can help with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, behavioural challenges, trauma, family changes (such as divorce), grief, sleeping fears , school difficulties, social problems, and developmental disorders. The goal is to support the child’s emotional well-being, strengthen coping skills, improve their behaviour to enhance relationships at home and school.

Some of the therapy techniques are : Play therapy: Children use toys, games, and imaginative play to express feelings and experiences they may not be able to put into words. Art and creative therapy: Drawing, painting, storytelling, or role-playing helps children communicate emotions safely. Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT): Teaches children how thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are connected and helps them develop healthier thinking patterns. Family therapy: Involves parents or caregivers to improve communication and support the child’s progress. Behavioural therapy: Focuses on reinforcing positive behaviours and reducing challenging ones. Havening Therapy: a psycho-sensory therapy designed to rapidly treat trauma, anxiety, using a sensory gentle touch A key part of child therapy is collaboration with parents or caregivers. Therapists often provide guidance to adults on how to support the child’s growth at home while maintaining a confidential space where the child feels safe to share. Children’s brains are remarkably adaptable, much like a sponge, absorbing new ideas and experiences with ease. Their neuroplasticity—the brain’s ability to form new connections and reorganize itself—is far stronger than that of adults, allowing them to learn, change, and grow quickly. Unlike adults, whose critical thinking and past experiences can sometimes slow down problem-solving, children approach challenges with a natural creativity and openness. This flexibility makes them particularly responsive to therapeutic approaches
